When looking at foods for a cancer-preventative diet, some foods to consider are walnuts and black walnuts.

Black walnuts hulls, along with other anti-parasitic herbs, are used to fight parasites. Black walnut extract is effective against candida. Candida can affect the immune system and of course the immune system is important in fighting all kinds of diseases, including cancer.  Romans of ancient times to American Indians to modern day herbalists have recognized the benefits of Black Walnuts.

While the nuts are safe and are used in baking, it is important to have a knowledgeable person or company make the extracts or herbal conconctions that are used for parasites and other health issues. Black walnuts have been used in cases of leukemia. It is necessary to contact your physician or healthcare professional for proper use. Be sure to bring along all relevant information.

Increased consumption of walnuts (approximately 3 ounces a day) is related to decreased risk breast cancer and prostate cancer. Walnuts include protein, healthy fats, and fiber in their makeup. It has also been found that an ounce of nuts two or more times a week helps reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer.

Walnuts contains omega-3 fats as well as omega-6 fatty acids.

Interestingly, walnuts send chemicals into nearby soil to keep other vegetation from competing. Therefore, don’t plan your flower or vegetable garden close to them.

As with all holistic health ideas, it is necessary to discuss dietary changes with your doctor. Why? Well, for one thing, sometimes taking herbs affects any medicine you might be taking. It might not be bad to take the herb, but you might need to leave a time space either before or after your medicine. These and other considerations are why you should be in contact with your doctor.

Remember, your doctor is very busy keeping up with all sorts of things. He might be very interested in research you have done that you think will help keep you healthy and happy. How many times have you heard stories of doctors saying, “I don’t know what you are doing, but keep it up.” People can learn things about food and diet that help them stay healthier and share these ideas with your doctor.

“Prevention is the Best Medicine”

Prevention is the Best Medicine

Prevention is the best medicine. We have all heard that phrase. When it comes to cancer, having a healthy lifestyle is a way to be proactive in dealing with cancer.

Prevention is the best medicine
The Budwig Cancer and Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Diet

Fortunately, eating guidelines for preventing cancer are similar to those to preventing diabetes and heart disease. That is good news. It is possible to affect more than one area of health with the same diet.

While being overweight does seem to be related to cancer, scientists are still unsure of the connection. In any case, cutting down on sugar and bad fats is always a good idea. They provide calories, but no real
nutrition. In fact, it is a burden to the body to digest foods that do not contribute to health.

Again, these ideas are good general health ideas, but eating fruits, vegetables, and beans is linked to a lower risk of color, stomach, esophageal, lung and oral cancer. Fill your shopping basket and plate with fruits and vegetables in a state as closely to how they grow in nature. In other words, a fresh apple is better than applesauce or apple juice.

Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, bok choy, kale, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli may help in the body’s enzymatic battle against cancer.

Fiber is useful in the battle against cancer. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber. On the other hand, animal products and processed junk food contain little to no fiber.

Researching the specific cause and effects of foods can be difficult. For one reason, participants may forget what they ate. Also, most eat several foods at a time. Plus, how do you divide out the difference in say, the influence of genetics, from the food itself, in any one participant? However, the fact it, it has been noticed that when western civilization goes into native cultures and they are introduced to sugar and other western foods, diseases that were previously unknown or in a small percentage of the population begin to manifest more as in western cultures. This in itself is a clue that diet is very important.

Watch Sugar Intake

Watch Sugar Intake

Watch sugar intake

Watch sugar intake; this can help prevent cancer cell growth. Cancer cells feed on sugar, and eliminating it from the diet can sometimes starve the cancer cells. Although this tactic cannot eliminate the cancer on its own, it could be used with other kinds of therapies to combat cancer.

There are many forms of sugar in the modern American diet.  This list covers some of them:  cookies, candies, sweet treats, brownies, chocolate milk, cupcakes, donuts, sodas, fruit juice, even healthy fruit juice drinks, and sugared cereal.  Simple carbohydrates are also converted easily to sugar.  Sugar is in jams, jellies, ketchup, and some salad dressings.  If you read the labels of packages you will see that processed foods are inundated with sugar.
One way to watch sugar intake is to use healthy sugar free drinks.  While there are several sugar free alternatives, Stevia is a sweetener made from a plant’s leaves.  It is better to drink tea sweetened with Stevia, than to drink tea sweetened with sugar.

Since beverages with sugar can cause cancer, you should avoid consuming them. The load of calories and the simple carbs in these drinks may cause you to gain weight, which can further spread the cancer in the body.

It takes rethinking everything you eat and drink to try to avoid sugar.  There are a lot of books out that help you with recipes that are anti-cancer recipes.

You have to be proactive in treatment.  This way, you will be more effective in combating cancer, than just passively letting your doctors treat you. Always stay involved in the situation, and pay attention to what is going on.

In today’s world, there is a culture of let someone else do it for me.  When it comes to cancer, you have to put yourself in the game.  Listen to your doctors and also do all you can through lifestyle and diet to beat cancer.  Fight to win.
