How Does Cancer Kill You?

Why is cancer so dangerous? How does cancer kill you?

First, some statistics may be encouraging. “Overall, more than 50% of people diagnosed with cancer live for more than 5 years. Some cancers have survival rates of more than 90%.” [cancerresearchuk.org]

About 1 in 5 cancers are related to diet or lifestyle, and could be prevented.

If you are fighting cancer, it is important to catch it in the early stages. This is when treatment is most like to work the best.

Everything depends on where the cancer is located. For example, cancer in the digestive track can hinder digestion. Cancer in the lungs hinders the absorption of oxygen.

The human body is a finely balanced machine. It is necessary for all parts to work for optimal health. Cancer hinders parts of the body from working properly. Cancer tumors disrupt normal functioning of various organs. Plus, cancer can divert energy from normal cells to itself so the individual does not feel as energetic and the body does not have the energy it needs for life. As cancer cells increase in an organ, that organ is less capable of doing its job. Since all jobs are vital to the body (lungs for breathing, digestive track for absorption of nutrition, bone marrow for the creation of red blood cells, pancreas for the creation of insulin), then as the organs stop working, the body eventually loses its ability to function as a finely tuned machine. This leads eventually to death.

If you have a cancer diagnosis, or even if you are concerned about cancer regarding yourself or a loved one or friend, it is important to learn as much as you can and be open to new information.   Many people have overcome cancer or at least gotten into remission.  It is not impossible to conquer cancer, but you have to be open to two things: 1) new information  2)  the willingness to implement that information.

Like it or not, our industrialized society is part of the problem when it comes to cancer.  Sugar is a regular part of the western diet, and sugar feeds cancer.  Pollutants creates oxidants and this can give rise to cancer.  The food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe is not as pristine as it was hundreds of years ago.  The food is often genetically modified.  Our bodies are dealing with all sorts of stresses that did not exist in former times.

Lifestyle change is a definite part of being proactive against cancer.  You cannot keep doing the things that make the body susceptible to cancer, take some kind of treatment, and expect all the help to come from an outer solution.  You have to be willing to learn, change, discipline yourself, and make the necessary changes to have a healthy lifestyle.

When you are told information, always double check your resources, as information can sometimes be incorrect. Learn all that you can about cancer subjects, because this will give you a better understanding of ways to treat cancer. There are few worse problems one can have than a cancer diagnosis. Internalize the information in this article to help you put that cancer into remission where it belongs.
